Police Update 21st June

Morning All

Thank you for the great feedback yesterday, I do hope you will find my updates useful, I will have to stress that sometimes details may be sparse as I wouldn’t want to prejudice a live investigation, but I will keep you as updated as I reasonably can.

Steady day yesterday, the sun seems to have that effect, officers spent some of the afternoon supporting their colleagues at an incident in Summerhill. If you weren’t not aware Wrexham County is divided into two police districts. Wrexham town (WX) I guess we will need to change its name soon, and also Wrexham Rural (WR). The latter covering all the outlying villages.

I look after WX which is the traditional town footprint including Rhostyllen, however when larger incidents such as yesterday occur we do support each other.

Specifically for WX I can report as follows:-

44 calls for service in 24hrs – again a mix bag from crime to missing persons and general welfare issues.

Three people in Llay custody at present, one for a fail to appear (court) warrant, one male for domestic assault and a young man who has been arrested for theft related offences.

I mentioned yesterday about motorbikes being stolen and likely damaged before their recovery, well sadly one was located “burnt out” but another was located with repairable damage to the ignition, hopefully the owner can make good, we have also arrested one local male for involvement in these offences following an operation put in place last night.

ASB – officers dealt with two incidents of ASB in the town yesterday, one involving three local youths causing damage, two are named and will be visited soon… and the second incident involved street drinking, putting that person in breach of order, he refused to engage and was arrested for his troubles.

I also noted two thefts reported yesterday, milk stolen from a nursery and a school nearby, the children clearly having to go without…. Such selfish behaviour. However I am aware that two names have been suggested as suspects and again they will be dealt with appropriately.

Officers have eight matters pending attendance this morning, PS Sam Cullen is your day Sgt and Sgt Steff Burns will be with you overnight.

I will be in Llay today “trying” to help PC`s preparing for the Sgt promotion process that is fast approaching. In between that I will be sending emails like they are going out of fashion.. (I sent over 80 yesterday!!) also monitoring all the activity across the town and keeping an eye on how we dispose of our sticky fingered friend in custody…

Have a great day all, stay safe.
