Theft in your area!

Hello!

North Wales Police have received a report of the theft of a pedal bike and expensive garden furniture from the Sandycroft area in Deeside.

We are encouraging all locals around the area to consider the following crime prevention advice to reduce the chances of becoming victim of a similar incident.

-Lock all valuables away when not being used in a Shed/Garage if possible.

-Consider purchasing CCTV or security lighting for the property which covers all entry and exit points.

-Ensure you have up to dates pictures of your valuables and any unique markings or features they may have.

-Never leave things out in your garden if possible.

-Consider buying a “Ground anchor” and a good quality chain and padlock to secure any valuables which you may have.

-Consider purchasing SmartWater for your valuables!

What is SmartWater?

-SmartWater is a forensic marking kit which works in the same way as DNA.

-Items which are marked with SmartWater are forensically traceable back to its owner.

-SmartWater can be used on almost any surface.

-Once dry SmartWater is invisible to the naked eye, however will glow bright green under UV light.

-Each SmartWater kit can mark up to 80 items.

-To mark an item with SmartWater all you need is a “Pea sized” amount to make the item traceable back to you.

-SmartWater retails for £59.50 however North Wales Police have a discount code for all North Wales residents which brings the price down to £25 per kit.

If you would like the discount code for SmartWater then please email wedontbuycrime@northwales.police.uk with your address and name. You will then get a reply with the discount code along with other crime prevention information.

Many thanks,
