Rota 4 are with you overnight, NPT here until 10pm. It's not a 24hr review 🧐

As it's the festive period, there will be a number of evening where officers are on overtime to help with the busy period - that's why I'm here tonight! I'm in 19:00 - 05:00hrs on what we call the "DV Car" there are also officers on overtime in our divisional HQ who are the "DV Investigators" We're in to deal with any incidents of domestic violence tonight, which unfortunately is something we see a lot more of over the festive period.

Sometimes when I speak to the public and they see the social media and community alerts their shocked at just how much Domestic Violence we deal with. However there are a number of people at risk, who don't call us and don't tell anybody. If you need help or are not safe at home, there are a number of ways to discretely make contact with police and other services. There is also the silent 999 call, if you are in danger and cannot speak press "55" when connected and we will keep the line open and send officers.

Before I finish my shift, I'm hoping to post a timeline of what we've been doing to give you a real insight into a weekend night shift on Flintshire North.
