Important notice from Dwr Cymru Welsh Water for those who were affected by the water issues in the Conwy area of North Wales.


Dwr Cymru Welsh Water are warning of a scam where customers are being contacted and are being asked to share their bank details in order to receive compensation.

Welsh water won't be contacting customers to ask for bank details as they will be paying any compensation due into customers Dwr Cymru Welsh Water accounts.

Please make sure that your family and friends who were impacted by the water issues are aware of this - particularly if they are elderly or vulnerable.
 

Here is their full notice to customers -

 

⚠️ Scam alert  ⚠️

 

We are aware of a scam circulating and sent to a few of our customers asking for bank details in relation to the compensation claims off the back of the burst water main in north Wales.

This message hasn’t come from Welsh Water.

 

If you are a direct debit customer, we already have your details and will be paying straight in to your account.

 

Please be careful and if in doubt check with us first.
