Good Morning Flintshire North!
R1 and NPT with you today - 60 calls for service in the last 24h, 13 of which were P0 🚨 (Attended on Lights & Sirens) 🏡 3 x Domestic Incidents
👮🏼♀️ 3 Arrests in the last 24h - 1 x Domestic related Assault, 1 x Controlling & Coercive Behaviour (Domestic Offence). 1 x Drug Driver 🚓 37 incidents have come over to our system for a write up, 6 have been recorded as crimes so far.
🧐 Following the mention the other day of a high risk domestic incident our Criminal Investigation Department (Detectives) have taken over and will continue the investigation. Incidents are triaged by our detectives and when they reach a certain score, whether it be on complexity or risk they take over. They are qualified in a Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme and PIP 1 or 2, which is the professionalising investigations programme. They don't necessarily have more resources than us, however they don't need to respond spontaneously to 999 calls throughout the day.
💻 One incident can tie up significant resources - that one high risk following the initial call, had four officers assigned from the outset - two to assist with the victim and witness directly and two to start other enquiries to locate the suspect and visit addresses, once a suspect is located and arrested, those two will then become committed in custody and more officers will be assigned to complete enquiries such as house to house or CCTV.
🚗 RTC's and other incidents can also eat up significant resources, where officers need to be on road closures or scene closures.
🐝 That's why when you see our response officers out and about and they maybe don't look like they're eager to stop for a chat - They're probably busy completing enquiries, as they will also have their own workload to try and progress, and there just isn't enough time in the day 🕓
🫱🏻🫲🏽 That's why we have a neighbourhoods team, while PC's will reguarly back up and assist response - and try and reduce demand on them with long term problem solving, they along with PCSO's are around to engage with the community. That said, we'll be at an aspirations day today at a local school 🏫
👨🏽🚒 We've heard that fire are also attending the aspirations day, so it's been a big push this morning to see what Gucci units we can get, such as dogs and traffic - because to be honest, it's really hard to outshine a firetruck 🤣
🐶 Today it's RPD Otis, who's enjoying a peaceful retirement with his handler. And, you guessed it, as a retired PD he is being supported by Paws Off Duty, founded by NWP Dog Handler PC Edwards, to support the needs of retired dogs and their handlers. 💙 📞 It's been calling in favours left right and centre for me this morning to see who we can have with us at the Aspiration's day, I absolutely need to wash the car I've picked up aswell 🧽 Hopefully we'll have some lovely photos to show you - Have A Wonderful Day, Stay Safe - 3604. | ||||
