P'Nawn da, good afternoon Resident
If you have children in any of the schools in the Rhyl, Prestatyn, St Asaph, Rhuddlan & Caerwys areas, then this is for you. If not, feel free to read it anyway!
It's #OpSceptre week again, which comes around twice a year. As well as the usual lessons delivered to the learners, they may also receive an assembly presentation about the laws surrounding knives and such related articles. These presentations are age-appropriate and will give your children the knowledge to help keep themselves and their friends safe.
I want to give a reminder to those with children in their families to ensure their young ones know about using the 999 emergency services number sensibly and only in an emergency after hearing about how some youngsters made a call recently that was definitely not an emergency and deemed a “right laugh” by them. It is not, and things like this means people who are in desperate need of help may not be able to get through to an operator. Help them to be aware of the 101 non-emergency number if they need to report things that are not urgent.
Once again, the issue of cars parking on the yellow zig zag safety zones outside schools has risen its head. Please, please follow the signage which will tell you when you can park on those areas and when you can't. If you park on them, you may receive a Notice of Intended Prosecution. Please do not put our communities' children as risk.
