Good Morning Flintshire North 🌧️ R4 and NPT are with you today along with PC Rain. 42 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 8 of which were P0 🚨 (Attended on Lights & Sirens) 🏡 3 x Domestic Incidents 🚑 2 x Concern For Safety ✖️ 3 x Anti Social Behaviour 👮🏿♂️ 3 Arrests two still in for breakfast - 2 for domestic related assaults and one for common assault and criminal damage. 🚓 37 incidents have come over to our system for a write up with 8 recorded as crimes so far. 🧐 Quick review for out force priorities, there's been no reported hate crimes or burglaries, and there's the three domestics reported. Once of which is a Clare's Law Request. Today's What Happens Next⁉️ Another relatively simple scenario; Drug Driving. 🚓 PC Police is out on patrol, a vehicle catches his eye as it looks to be in some disrepair. PC Police conducts a PNC Check, which returns with the registered keeper and insured details. ⁉️ The registered keeper and the insured are different, and there's a male driving but there isn't one named on the vehicle as insured. 🚨 PC Police gives the lights and sirens a blast and the driver pulls over. 👃🏻 The driver gets busy explaining that they are insured on another vehicle and that makes them eligible to drive others. PC Police has caught the scent of cannabis coming from the vehicle and runs the drivers details, they're insurance is legitimate and they have some prior warnings and intelligence for cannabis use. 👮🏻♂️ PC Police knows his powers, and as he now suspects the driver is under the influence of drugs, he has the power to conduct a roadside drugs wipe. If the driver didn't have insurance that would have been a moving traffic offence which would have also given the PC the power to request a sample of saliva for the test. ⏰ The test is administered, by PC Police running the wipe along the tongue and inner cheek of the driver. After 8 Minutes it returns positive for cannabis and PC Police arrests the driver. 🚔 The driver is taken to custody, where their detention is authorised. 📕 PC Police then completes and MG DD/A and MG DD/B booklet, which asks a lot of questions of the driver, whether they are on medication or have any medical reasons not to give blood and, if they consent to provide a blood sample. ⚕️ The driver consents, and the Nurse in custody confirms they are well enough to give blood and confirms consent. 🪡 Following the blood draw, the driver is asked if they want part of their sample so they can send it off for analysis, the samples are sealed in tamper proof bags and the placed in the fridge. 🚗 The driver, having given blood is bailed to wait for the results. They're advised not to drive again that day, as they will probably still return positive and be arrested again. ⏰ The blood sample is sent away and returns around 8 weeks later, the forensic analysis will tell us the concentration of the substance in the blood in Micrograms Per Litre of Blood. The driver returns a reading of "Not Less Than 4.8" of Delta - 9 - Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and the specified limit is 2.0 . 💌 PC Police completes a file, and their sergeant completes the charge. The driver will receive a charge and court date in the post. They should expect an obligatory driving ban, fines and court fees. 🐶 Today it's brother and sister, PD Sansa and PD Buddy! It was their birthday a couple of days ago and they both turned 9. They're still loving the job. 💙 👨🏿⚖️ I was due in court today (as a witness obviously) but I've been stood down. So I'll be out and about on patrol. Have a wonderful day - Stay Safe, 3604. |
