Good morning, Bore da Resident

So I have settled on a name for my wee newsletter, until the schools reopen, it shall be a “blog”. I've seen this word used a lot for people who post on the internet, but I didn't know what it meant. I know of Capt. Kirk's Log in Star Trek, but he doesn't call it a blog. So I looked it up: “A regular record of your thoughts, opinions or experiences that you put on the internet for other people to read”. I think that's a fair description!

Last night I had the pleasure of accompanying my colleague, PCSO Jones, on Anti-Social Behaviour patrols in Prestatyn. This meant engaging with the stores on Parc Prestatyn and the people in the area.  It was really nice to see the relationship that PCSO Jones has with her community. We received some positive feedback from the public and met a lot more of my learners out and about. I think a lot didn't recognise me with my helmet on. It's proper name is a Custodian Helmet and I do usually wear it when on foot patrol. It was nice when it dawned on them that they DID know me! I also met with a group who are no long my students but have since moved on, so it was nice they came over to let me know what they're up to now. Although I deal with our school communities on a regular basis, its nice to engage with the wider community also.
